The Double Standard of Breast Presentation

Yes, this is written from a guy's perspective and perhaps I just don't "get it." For those that think so, correct me in comments--they are always welcome.

But while we are on the topic of mysteries of the universe, I thought I'd bring this up. (I also just spent several hours in an airport during spring break, where lots of young women were displaying the traits I'll mention here.)

Here's my main dilemma with this mystery:  Women go through a lot of trouble and money to "present" their anatomy to the best of their advantage, but then (most) get offended when we men actually notice.

Being married, I've been apprised of the necessity of a good bra, but I'm talking about pushups, miracles, etc that enhance not just support.

To be fair, a lot of men stare, gape, salivate, or otherwise inappropriately react. However, my point is that the situation has been set up for us to notice.

Visiting the Victoria's Secret site demonstrates how many ways the female anatomy can be manipulated, and frequent television commercials reinforce the "change your shape" (usually enhance your shape) philosophy.

This is another "explain this to me if you can" post. Use the comments, let's discuss, educate me. While we are at it, consider if the male of the species has any similar enhancement tendencies. (Hair doesn't count--we do get miffed when our balding nature is noticed but that's because it's not noticed in a sexually attracted way.)
