Rescue Me: Great Stories, Awesome Writing
Reading & Writing

I'm really starting to appreciate good writing, especially on TV. On cable channels, like HBO or FX Networks, I've come to expect more. (Especially because there's so much crap out there otherwise.)
Consider Rescue Me, on the FX Network. (If you haven't watched it, get out and get the DVDs from Blockbuster or add them to your Netflix account--the entire three years are pure gold.
What impresses me most about Rescue Me, is the layers that go into almost every scene. Witness the scene linked to the logo below--pay attention to the "box" subtext in the very first opening scene of the series.

(Please right click the logo and save the file locally to view it--don't stream it off the server. Thanks!)
After watching a few Rescue Me episodes, the rest of TV writing seems very one dimensional. Tell me what else you enjoy on the same level.
