Rescue Me: Another Gem in the Rough of TV

The fact that I love Denis Leary's shtick probably has a lot to do with my fascination with the show. Of course the top-notch writing, involved story lines, and dynamite soundtrack has a lot to do with it too.

All the other pluses aside, bits like this (where Leary's character is leaving his “sample” at a sperm bank) are priceless:

Leary: “This isn't my usual volume. I mean, it's usually, uh, more. It's really cold in that room. You know, you really ought to think about smaller cups...and better magazines.”

I missed the first season, but just added it to my next Netflix pick. It's a pretty easy series to pick up--tune into the FX Network and give it a watch.
