The Soprano Bait and Switch

For the last few weeks HBO has been promoting next Sunday (05/28/06) as the last episode of the Sopranos. I knew that this was supposed to be the last season and have been gearing up for the big goodbye.
Tonight (05/21/06) the teaser for next week (the last episode) said something akin to the following:
Don't miss next week's Sopranos, your chance to say goodbye to the family--for now.
“For now?” What the hell?!? HBO's teaser continues:
Next week is the last episode of the year, and the final episode before the last eight episodes, ever.
Does this make any sense, given the “Last X Episodes!” promotion that's been running after the last few week's episodes. So next week isn't the last episode ever...I have to wait until next year for that. I feel like I've been swindled by Tony himself.
