(Don't roll your eyes at me, I didn't name the program!)
The Rasterbator is one cool piece of software. The principle is simple, upload an image and it gets turned into a large, poster-sized, rastered image. You download the resulting PDF (usually 10s of pages), print, and assemble the pages into a poster for your wall. Below is a sample of a picture and the result, a 48 page, 88" x 51" poster.


With dime and quarter-sized dots the prints look like bad ASCII art up close, but even a few feet away the images pop. I haven't tried a mono-color or full-color image yet (can't afford the ink!) but I'm betting the results will be as spectacular. Look at the gallery (link below) for some samples.
