Battlestar Galactica: The Wait is Over

On Dec 8th the long wait for more Battlestar Gallactica is officially over. The Sci-Fi Channel miniseries simultaniously brings Richard Hatch's dream and nightmare to life.

I just watched the behind the scenes show ("Battlestar Galactica: The Lowdown") and can't believe all the egos and controversy surrounding the Sci-Fi miniseries. The new writer and director (Ronald D. Moore--who really comes off as a mega-ego in the show) kept talking about how he was avoiding all the bad things about the old series--most of which are elements that made the original series great (mechanized Cylons, over-the-top effects, etc). Richard Hatch is delighted that a BG project is finally a go, but seems quite peeved that it is someone else's project. The fans are peeved that Starbuck is female (Katee Sackhoff), as is Boomer (Grace Park), etc.

To all this I say, "Hey, Battlestar Galactica is back on TV! Get over your damn selves!"

So tune in on Dec 8th and enjoy it!
